My name is Claire and my passion for photography started about 10 years ago when I was a junior at the University of Texas at Austin. I started taking photos of friends and events with my Canon point and shoot… and it quickly became my obsession. Photography wasn't my major, but I decided to teach myself all about photography and editing software.

Eventually, I got my first DSLR - Canon Digital Rebel t3i - and then dabbled in old-school film photography with a Canon AE-1 (noticing a trend here? #canonlife). But then something happened along my journey….

I struggled a lot after graduating college. Student debt, pressure to find a high-paying job, and many other tribulations made me less inspired to pursue my passion. I became withdrawn, depressed, and spent all of my time working in retail (which barely even made ends meet). Sadly... I gave up on my dream to become a photographer.

But the story doesn't end there, so bear with me! Fast forward 5 years, I landed a great job working in Austin. I finally found success professionally and I had a little extra income to travel and enjoy my leisure time. This year, I decided to pursue my dream once more.

This blog is meant to keep me accountable to my passion while also informing other photography enthusiasts, whether they be beginners, professionals or hobbiests. My hope is to offer advice and discoveries that bridge the gap between technique and technology. We now have so many tools at our disposal to help us make the most out of our photos.
